I had a dog. Its name is Jim. Every morning Jim goes to the shop in the village. The girl in the shop gives him two things, a sweet and a newspaper. Jim eats the sweet and takes the newspaper in his mouth. Then he runs home.
I like reading my newspaper in bed before I get up. Jim knows that and he brings the newspaper to my bedroom. When I am eating my breakfast, he brings all the letters to me. After that, he goes outside to wait for the bus. When he sees the bus coming down the road, he makes a noise. I run out and the school bus stops for me. Jim never lets me miss the bus.
1．Jim goes to the shop in the evening.There are no trees or water there. Travelers must take food and water with them. The only animal that can walk through the desert is the camel. It can go without food or water for a long time. People call the camel “the ship of the desert”. The camels’ humps (驼峰) hold fat (脂肪), and their stomachs hold water in twelve deep pockets. Each pocket has a mouth which closes, and the food does not mix with the water. When the camel wants some water, it can get it out of the pockets. The camel’s food is grass and leaves of trees.
