It was a snowy week. It snowed every day. The deep snow was everywhere. After the snow stopped, Mr. Smith’s garden was full of deep snow. He wanted to take his car out of the garage. So he paid a man to clean the snow. He said to the man, “Clean the path, but don’t throw any snow in my garden or the street. ” Then he went out.

When he came back, the path was clean. He was very happy. Then he open the garage. What did he see? He couldn’t see his car because it was under the snow!

I am lucky

A train stops at a station (车站). A young man wants to come out, but it is raining. A boy is standing under a big umbrella. The young man says to the boy. “Can you go and get us two hamburgers, one for you and one for me? Here are two dollars.” “Great!” says the boy and he goes to buy hamburgers. After some time, the boy is back. He is eating a hamburger. “Where is my hamburger?” asks the young man. “Oh, there is only one hamburger left. So I am lucky. Now I’m eating mine. Here is your dollar.”

It was a bad day for me yesterday.

When I got up this morning, it was already 8: 00. I must be late for school. I got up quickly and didn’t have breakfast. By the time I ran to the bus stop, the school bus had already left. So I had to run to school. When I got to school, the teacher had started teaching. When I sat down, I found I had left my notebook at home. Finally, it was time for lunch. I was so hungry. But when I got to the restaurant, I realized I didn’t have any money. So I didn’t eat lunch, either. What a bad day!

Yesterday was Sunday. It was sunny and cool. In the morning, I went to the park with my friends. We played games and ran everywhere. We were excited. Then I heard a noise in the grass. We looked into the grass and an animal went out. We were scared and ran away. The dog ran after us and jumped “Woof! Woof!” Oh, it was a little dog. We were happy again.

It was Sunday. At seven o’clock I got up. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. I was very hungry, so I looked for my breakfast but I didn’t find anything to eat. I had to cook some noodles with eggs. At about 9 o’clock, I went to Bob’s home. It was Bob’s birthday that day. Our friends were at his birthday party. We had fun together. We played chess. Some of us played the computer games. At last, we went to the park to play football.

One day, Mr. White came home very late. He looked for the key to the door, but he couldn’t find it. He lost his key. He rang the bell; nothing happened. He did it again. Nobody moved inside the room. Mr. White knocked at the bedroom window, he spoke to his wife, he shouted, but she didn’t wake up. At last he stopped and thought for a moment. Then he began to speak like a small child. He said, “Mother, I want to go to the toilet.” He spoke quite quietly, but at once Mrs. White woke up. Then he spoke to her, and she opened the door for him.

Helen Keller lived in the USA. When she was a baby, she got very sick. After she was better, she couldn’t see and hear well. A few years later, things got worse. There was no way for Helen to speak to other people. She saw nothing. She heard nothing. She didn’t understand anything.

One day a teacher came to live with Helen and her family. The teacher helped Helen learn about words. Helen was such a bright girl that she could spell her first word soon. When she was older, she went to college.

Helen became very famous later. She travelled around the world and helped many blind and deaf people. The world remembers her as a brave and wonderful person. She was blind and deaf, but she found a way to see and hear.

I had a dog. Its name is Jim. Every morning Jim goes to the shop in the village. The girl in the shop gives him two things, a sweet and a newspaper. Jim eats the sweet and takes the newspaper in his mouth. Then he runs home.

I like reading my newspaper in bed before I get up. Jim knows that and he brings the newspaper to my bedroom. When I am eating my breakfast, he brings all the letters to me. After that, he goes outside to wait for the bus. When he sees the bus coming down the road, he makes a noise. I run out and the school bus stops for me. Jim never lets me miss the bus.

There are no trees or water there. Travelers must take food and water with them. The only animal that can walk through the desert is the camel. It can go without food or water for a long time. People call the camel “the ship of the desert”. The camels’ humps (驼峰) hold fat (脂肪), and their stomachs hold water in twelve deep pockets. Each pocket has a mouth which closes, and the food does not mix with the water. When the camel wants some water, it can get it out of the pockets. The camel’s food is grass and leaves of trees.
