There are no trees or water there. Travelers must take food and water with them. The only animal that can walk through the desert is the camel. It can go without food or water for a long time. People call the camel “the ship of the desert”. The camels’ humps (驼峰) hold fat (脂肪), and their stomachs hold water in twelve deep pockets.
