Last spring, our class had a spring trip. We got on the bus at 8: 00. After half an hour, we got to the zoo. Then we visited the zoo. At eleven o'clock, we began to make dumplings, and we had our lunch at 12 : 00. After we had a rest, we rowed a boat at 14: 00. Two hours later we took pictures, sang and danced together. We had a very good time!

On Christmas Eve-the night before Christmas Day-children all over Britain put stockings at the end of their beds before they go to sleep. Their parents usually tell them that Father Christmas will come during the night. Father Christmas is very kind­hearted. He gets to the top of each house and climbs down the chimney into the fireplace. He fills each of the stockings with Christmas presents. Of course, Father Christmas isn't real. In Jim and Kate's house, “Father Christmas” is really Mr Green. Mr Green doesn't climb down the chimney. He waits until the children are asleep. Then he quietly goes into their bedrooms and fills their stockings with small presents. When they were very young, Mr Green sometimes wore a red coat. But he doesn't do that now. The children are no longer young, and they know who “Father Christmas” really is. But they still put their stockings at the end of their beds.

Hello, Mary. Welcome to our school. I’d like to tell you about our school library. There’s a reading room in the library. There are a lot of interesting books in the reading room. There are a few rules for the reading room. You shouldn’t talk in the reading room. You shouldn’t eat in the reading room. You shouldn’t take books out of the reading room. Most of the people in China can have four seasons. However, people in South China have three seasons --- spring, summer and fall. They don’t have winters. In north China, people have a cold, dry and windy winter. But people in Kunming only have one season --- spring. It’s warm and rainy all the year. You can see green trees and beautiful flowers there. So “ Spring City ”is another name for Kunming.

The Weather in Britain

In Britain, winter is not very cold and summer is not very hot. There is not a great difference between summer and winter. Why is this?

Britain has a mild winter and a cool summer because it is an island country. In summer the sea is cool. The winds from the sea bring cool air to Britain.

The western winds blow over Britain all year round. They blow from the southwest, and they are wet winds. They bring rain to Britain throughout the year. Britain has a lot of rain all year round.

The four seasons are each three months long. Winter is in December, January and February. Spring is in March, April and May. Summer is in June, July and August. Autumn is in September, October and November.
