I am Tom. Everyone in my family has a hobby. My father’s hobby is collecting stamps. He has a lot of stamps from other countries. My mother likes reading and collecting books. My grandpa has many old clocks and watches. His hobby is collecting toy cars. So you can see books, stamps, clocks, watches, maps and toys cars in our house.

In my family, there are three people. They are my mother, my father and I. My mother likes cooking, and my father likes reading. We are very happy, and play together a lot. My mother always looks after me, and my father looks after me too. I love my parents!

My name is Li Fang. I have a new friend. Her name is Linda. She lives in New York. Linda is eleven years old. She likes playing chess. My hobby is playing chess, too. She often goes to school by bus. Her mother is a doctor. She goes to work on foot. Her father is a teacher. He goes to work by car. Every evening Linda does her homework. Her mother watches TV and her father reads newspapers. Linda will come to China soon. She is in England now. I’m excited.

Jane often gets to school early. She likes to talk to her friends before class. After school, she doesn’t go home early. She goes to all kinds of pet shops. She likes to see the dogs. My name is Jack. I am an English boy. Now I study in China. I usually have three classes in the morning and three in the afternoon. But on Monday afternoon, we only have two classes. so I often play basketball with my friends after school. In my free time, I like singing, swimming and playing basketball. There are four people in the twins’ family. They are the twins, their father and their mother. The twins’ names are Lucy and Lily. They are fourteen. They are in the same class in the No.1 Middle School. They are very good students. They not only work very hard but also sing very well. They want to join the music club. Lucy wants to play the piano. Lily can play the guitar.

Their father, Mr King, is a teacher. He teaches English in a school near his home. Their mother, Mrs King, is a teacher, too. She teaches Chinese. Mr and Mrs King are in different schools. But they have the same hobby-play the guitar.

   Where is Love? How can we find Love?

Once a little boy wanted to meet Love. He knew it was a long trip to where Love lived, so he got his things ready with some pizzas and drinks and started off. When he passed three streets, he saw an old woman sitting in the park and watching some birds. She looked very hungry. The boy gave her a pizza. She took it and smiled at him. The smile was so beautiful that he wanted to see it again, so he gave her a Coke. She smiled once again. The boy was very happy.

They sat there all the afternoon, eating and smiling, but they said nothing. When it grew dark, the boy decided to leave. But before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old woman and gave her a hug. The woman gave him her biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door of his house, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face and asked what had made him so happy. “I had lunch with Love. She has got the most beautiful smile in the world.” At the same time, the old woman’s son was also surprised at his mother’s pleasure and asked why. “I ate a pizza in the park with Love,” she said, “and he is much younger than I expected.” If the world is full of love, we can enjoy a better life.

Carl and Tim are students in Grade Six. They are good friends. They want to join some clubs after school. There are a lot of clubs in the school. They are the fishing club, the swimming club, the basketball club and the music club. Carl wants to join the fishing club. Because he is interested in fishing. Hello, everyone! Do you like playing basketball? There are 40 students in our class. Everyone in the class likes it very much. And many of them are good at it. More than half of my class play basketball every day. We have a boy team and a girl team. In PE classes, the two teams have matches. They play well. But they’re friendly, too. This Friday afternoon, our girl team will play basketball with Class Three. I think we must win.

Jack and Sally are brother and sister. They are twins. They like swimming and riding bikes. They like flying kites, too. They often (经常) run with the kites near the river. The kites are very high. They look very happy (高兴) .

But not all of their favourite games are the same. Jack likes playing football and Sally likes playing basketball. Jack likes jumping high. He thinks it’s easy, but Sally thinks it’s very hard . Sally likes making something, but Jack can’t. Sally can sing well and Jack can throw the yo-yo very well.
