Hello! My name is Dick. I'm twelve years old. I'm in Class Three, Grade Five. There are thirty students in my class. There are seventeen girls and thirteen boys in our class. My school is big and beautiful. There are many trees and flowers around our school. There are twenty-four classes in our school.

Look! This is our music club. We often sing and dance here. We have two music lessons in it in a week. We must keep the music club clean. This is our language lab. We usually have English lessons on Tuesday and Thursday. Now It's time for class. My classis having PE on the playground. Nine boys are playing basketball. Tom and Robert are playing volleyball under the tree. Jim and I are doing the long jump. What are the girls doing? Can you guess? Oh! They are all watching the basketball games. We like sports very much. What about you?

 It's Sunday morning. My parents, my uncle and I are all at home. My father is sitting near the window. What's he doing? He is reading a newspaper. He likes reading newspapers. He wants to know happens all over the world (了解世界发生的何事）.

 My mother is watering the flowers. There are some flowers in our garden. They look nice. My uncle is my mother's brother. He is a worker. He is watching TV. What am I doing? I'm doing my homework.

It's nine o'clock in the evening. The family are at home. Jim's father is sitting in a chair. He's watching TV. His mother is standing near the window. She's giving some food(喂食) to the bird, Polly. Polly says, "Thanks! Thanks!" Where's Jim? Oh, he's behind the door. Kate is looking for him. They are playing games. There is no homework on Sunday evening.

Today is Sunday. It is a fine day today. The sun is shining. The sky is blue. Mr. Smith and his family are walking in the park. There are four people in his family. Mr. Smith and his wife are looking at the boats on the lake. Tom is looking at the bird in the sky. Mary is not looking at the boats in the lake. She is looking at a big ship. They have a good time.

Lucy usually gets up very early in the morning. She often goes to school at about 7:30. She has her first lesson at eight o’clock. She doesn’t go home at noon(中午). She has lunch at school. After lunch, she has a rest for half an hour(半小时). Then she plays games with her classmates. School is over at 4:30. Lucy goes home with her friends at about five. At six thirty, she has dinner with her parents. She goes to bed at 9:30. That’s Lucy’s day.

Jenny is Mr. White’s little daughter. She is good at Art. But she isn’t good at Math. Mr. White is teaching her,” What’s six plus three?” Jenny counts her fingers and answers, “It’s nine.” “Good. What’s twenty minus three?” Anna counts her fingers and toes. “Mm..it’s five. No, it’s seventeen.” Jenny answers slowly. “What’s eleven plus twelve, then?” Jenny looks at her fingers and toes. They are not enough (足够). Seeing this, Mr. White isn’t glad and says, “Use your head, Jenny.” “That’s not enough. I’ve got only one head.”

Alice is an Canadian girl. She is thirteen. She is in Tianjin with her parents now. She doesn’t know much Chinese. She can’t speak Chinese well, but she is trying to learn and speak it. Sometimes her friends don’t understand (理解) her.

It’s Sunday morning. She is going to the zoo to see pandas and rabbits. She is waiting at the bus stop. At the bus stop, she asks a boy how to go to the zoo. But the boy can’t understand her. Then she takes out (拿出) a pen and some paper. She draws a panda on it and shows the picture to the boy. The boy smiles and then shows her the way to the zoo.

Rose and Jim are good friends in Hope School. Rose is in Class Two, Grade Five. Jim is in Class Three, Grade Five. Rose has a maths lesson in the morning. But Jim has a maths lesson in the afternoon. After the maths lesson, they go to the science lab. They like to study science. Today the science teacher, Miss Zhou, teaches something about trees and flowers. They look at some flowers carefully. After school, Rose goes to the art club to paint pictures and Jim goes to the music club. He likes singing.

Betty and Kitty are twins. They’re 12 years old. They look the same (看起来一样). But they have different (不同的) hobbies. Betty likes watching TV. Kitty likes listening to music. They both like reading books. Betty likes reading storybooks. But Kitty likes reading science books (科学书). On Sundays, they usually ride bikes to the park. They can play with their friends. Sometimes their parents go there too.
