In the morning Mr Smith comes into the garden at the back of this house. He sees much snow in the garden. Mr Smith wants to take his car out, so he asks a man to clean the road from his garage (车库) to the gate. He says to the man, “Don’t throw any snow on that side. It will damage (损坏) the flowers in the street, or the policeman will come.” Then he goes out.

When he comes back, the road is clean. There is no snow on the flowers, on the wall or in the street. But when he opens garage, he sees the garage is full of snow, the snow from the road, and his car is under the snow!

There are many people in Shanghai. The streets are very busy with traffic. Sometimes The MTR (磁悬浮) are crowded with (挤满) people. A lot of people liked to go to work on foot or by bike some years ago. But now more people have their own cars. I do not want to take a bus to school. I think that walking is a kind of good exercise.

Father’s Day is a very new festival in British compared with Mother’s Day, which has been a very popular festival in the UK for a long time. Father’s Day started in America. Once there was a man called William Smith, whose wife died and he had to raise six children by himself. His daughter Sonaro, thought when she grew up what her father had done for them. So she thought that there should be a Father’s Day festival. Later, the tradition was born, falling on the third Sunday every June. Britain took the idea of Father’s Day from the USA and it has been popular since then.

What do British people do for Father’s Day? Well, most people would buy their fathers a card. The card would have a nice message in it saying what a great Dad their father is. Some people do buy presents as well. Popular gifts for Dads are probably ties, chocolates or socks because these are things that Dads can always use even if they don’t want them. Some families might do things together to celebrate it. As a special treat, British people might give their Dad a bit of rest--make him a cup of tea, or even wash his car to make him feel really relaxed.

 Dan and Kim are friends. Dan lives in an apartment downtown(市中心). It is very convenient to go to work or go shopping, but it's too noisy. There is a lot of traffic. Sometimes Dan can't stand(忍受). Kim has a house in the suburbs(郊区). It's not convenient to go to work or go shopping, but it's very quiet. There is not much to do. In fact, nothing ever happens.

Gary’s family moved home last month. His new home is on Green Street. It’s a busy street. There are many shops near his new home. There’s a post office and a flower shop beside his home. The flower shop is very big. His mother likes going there. She is buying some flowers in the shop now. Near the flower shop, there is a library. It’s Gary’s favourite place. Gary likes reading very much and he always goes there to read books on Saturday afternoon. There is a park near Gary’s new home too. It’s a good place for Gary’s grandparents. They often go there to take a walk and meet other old people.

Ted is a frog of six months old. He lives on an old mushroom, but he doesn’t like it any more. He wants to have a new home. So he leaves home, and he is looking for a new one.

Ted comes to a big tree. He sees a squirrel（松鼠）going to her home in a hole in the trunk. He doesn’t think a tree house is good for him because he can’t climb a tree. Then he finds a hole in the ground under the tree. And an ant is climbing out of his hole. He thinks it’s nice to have a home under the tree. But the ant’s hole is too small for him.

Ted feels tired, so he sits on the grass near a pond. He thinks it is a good place for him. He can jump into the pond and swim in it.

New Ted is sleeping on it, He has a nice dream.
