The US Presidents' Pets
President Bush's dogs often play on the lawn (草坪) of the White House, but do you know that he also has cows and a cat? These animals are part of a long history of the US presidential pets from horses and owls to snakes and elephants.
President Bush's dogs are Barney and Miss Beazley. His cat is named India. India has lived with the Bush family for more than ten years! On his farm the President keeps a cow named Ofelia. Bush named Ofelia after a person who worked with him. Bush said that the cow was very friendly.
The 26th president was famous for his pets. His six kids had snakes, dogs, cats, a badger, birds, guinea pigs and more.
Almost every president likes pets. So other countries gave some pets to the US presidents as gifts. The 15th president received lots of elephants from Thailand. The 8th president got a pair of tigers. The 29th president and his family even had a birthday party for their dog Laddie Boy.

A young boy was playing with a ball in the street. He kicked it too hard, and it broke the window of a house and fell inside. A lady came to the window with the ball and shouted at the young boy so the young boy ran away, but he still wanted his ball back. A few minutes later, he returned and knocked at the door of the house. When the lady answered it, he said, ‘My father is going to come and fix your window very soon.’
After a few more minutes, a man come to the door with his tools in his hands. So the lady let the boy take his ball away.
When the man finished fixing the window, he said to the lady, “That will cost you ten dollars.”
“But aren’t you the father of that young boy?”the woman asked. “Of course not,” he answered, “Aren’t you his mother?”

The monkey took (带) the tiger to a big river. "Look into the river, there he is. See his head! Look at his big teeth. How sharp!" said the monkey. "Grr. . So you told the monkey not to bring me anything! Grr... I'll kill you!
The tiger was very angry and he jumped into the river. He didn't come out again. Because it can't swim.

The summer holidays are coming. The boys and girls in our class are going to visit 6ther places during the holidays. Tom is going.to Xi’an by train with Mary.
