One afternoon Roy and Rosa are at the pond. Rosa sees something on a water plant. She says, "Here is something funny. What can it be, Roy?" The thing looks like jelly. It has little black spots in it. The children put the thing into a big jar with water. They took it home. They watch it every day. After six days, tadpoles come out of the eggs. They have long tails. Soon back legs begin to come out. The tails get shorter. Then front legs begin to come out. The tails get even shorter. All four legs get big. The tails are gone. Rosa says, "Now I know. I found frog eggs. Tadpoles come out of the eggs. Tadpoles are baby frogs."
