It was Mother’s Day, Tom was driving his new car on the road for fun. When he enjoyed the beauty of nature, he saw a flower shop. There were so many beautiful flowers so he stopped and had a look at the flowers. Just then he found a little girl standing next to the shop. She was counting the money in her hand. It seemed that she was a little unhappy.

Tom walked to her and asked, “Can I help you?”

“I want to buy some roses for my mother. But I don’t have enough money,” said the little girl.

Tom smiled and bought a big bunch (束) of red roses for her. The little girl asked Tom to take her to her mother. When they got to a grave (坟墓), the little girl put the roses before it.

Tom stood there and kept silent. He then drove back to the same flower shop to buy some flowers. He drove down two hundred miles to see his mother.

His mother was happy to see him. But she asked, “Why do you drive home? You could wish me on the phone.”

Tom just kissed his mother and said, “Happy Mother’s Day.”
