I was very scared of dogs before, but I changed my idea after my friend Jim told me a story about himself.

Long ago, Jim’s father 1． him a dog as a gift for his seventh birthday. Jim named the dog Brownie. Soon, Jim and Brownie 2． very close friends.

There was a river near Jim’s house. He often went fishing there with his friends to have some fun. One day, Jim took Brownie 3． fishing. He wanted to show Brownie his fishing skills. After 4． for a while, he suddenly felt a big force from under the water. Believing it must be a very big fish, Jim got very excited. He tried his best 5． the fish up out of the water, but it wouldn’t move. Because of the strong pull, Jim lost his balance and fell into the water. Sadly he didn’t know how 6．. He cried and struggled in the water for a while but soon went down.

As Jim woke up again, he felt the warmth on his face. Brownie was licking (舔) his face non-stop. He 7． to wake him up. Then Jim found himself lying on the river bank. On his shirt, there 8． some big holes. Seeing that, Jim smiled and hugged (拥抱) his best friend at once.
