In 1992, five villages in Galicia, Spain were flooded (被冲走) on purpose to create a large reservoir (水库). Now 1． of a drought (干旱) the water level of the reservoir is 2． than ever before. So much of one of those villages rose out of the water.

A large dam (大坝) was built across the Limia River in 1992. It was part of a big plan to build up a large body of water and use it to produce electricity. But five villages in the area was also completely 3．, so people in the villages had to leave their homes. When the dam’s gates were closed, the villages slowly disappeared under the water.

Like many 4． around the world, Galicia is fighting with a drought. As this long dry period has gone on and on, the level of water in the reservoir has been dropping all the time. Late last year, Aceredo, a part of one village 5． to appear out of the water. By November, parts of the village were dry enough for people to begin walking around in it again. They were 6． to find many things left exactly as they had been 30 years ago.

Some of the earliest visitors to Aceredo were people 7． used to live there. Now, Aceredo has become a popular place with tourists. It is so popular that the government has asked the nearby towns to limit (限制) the 8． of tourists that go there.

But 9． enough water, there will be even bigger problems for the dam. On February 1st, the local government decided to stop using the water 10． the dam almost completely.
