Rat helps Toad into his home. Toad is very happy to be in his friend’s house.
“Oh Rat!” he cries, “I want to tell you about my adventures(冒险经历).
I am a clever Toad! Prison (监狱), then run away on a train then a horse…”.
“Toad! You look terrible. Stop boasting(自吹自擂)! And why are you in a dress? Put on some dry clothes. Go!”
Toad is angry. But he takes off his dress and puts on dry clothes. He washes his face and he looks in the mirror(镜子) and smiles.
“I am a handsome Toad,” he says.
Later, Toad and Rat have lunch. Toad eats and tells Rat about his adventures. He talks and talks. But Rat doesn’t say a word.
At last Rat says, “Toad, you are an idiot (傻瓜). You steal (偷) cars; you go to the prison; a woman throws you in a river. All because you want to drive a car! That is not fun! Think about your friends, your friends are very sad.”
