There are many people in Shanghai. The streets are very busy with traffic. Sometimes The MTR (磁悬浮) are crowded with (挤满) people. A lot of people liked to go to work on foot or by bike some years ago. But now more people have their own cars. I do not want to take a bus to school. I think that walking is a kind of good exercise.
1.There are not many people in Shanghai. This is my first day in my new school. In the morning, I help my new teacher Miss Read to put some new textbooks into a big box. And then I carry it to the classroom. The box is very heavy. A boy runs very fast to me. He is too fast that he can’t stop. Oh, dear. My box drops to the floor and the books are everywhere. What can I do? I want to cry. The boy says, “Sorry”, and he helps me to pick up all the books. “Who is he?” He is my new classmate. His name is Jim and he is from England. We are friends now.

Sally’s family moves into a new home. It is on West Garden Road. There is a supermarket near their home. It’s very big. They can buy many different things there. It’s convenient. There is a library near their home too. It is on East Garden Road. It is big, bright and quiet. Sally likes reading books in it. And there is also a school near their home. It is on South Garden Road. It takes only fifteen minutes on foot. So Sally goes to school on foot from Monday to Friday.
